 I would say 50% of brides that come into visit me for a consultation 'long' to have 'longer' hair. Many would like to just add volume to their existing do!  Coming from a background in pageantry, I can tell you that I have worn multiple types of hair pieces to make my hair appear longer, thinker, curler, and so forth. Its a trick of the trade! I am excited to let Brides know that I have decided to carry hair pieces in my studio so that they may try a few different hair pieces when they come in for consults. I am able to match hair color and order them for you according to what you are looking for! Tons of fun!! Looking forward to seeing you soon!

My Glam Studio is a GREAT place to come to try your hair and makeup (a bridal consult), or get bridal makeup done before a portrait! Its also a great place to come and learn makeup application! It's located in Hanover Virginia and is convienant to Lewis Ginter and only 20 Minutes from Maymont park. Both popular portrait locations!
The Glam studio is dressed up in a vintage, shabby Chic style, but this past week I gave her an upgrade STRAIGHT from Hollywood!
I found the PREFECT mirror while searching the internet! Its from a company called Vanity Girl! Now when clients come in they can enjoy a little "Hollywood flair". So the seat is ready right in front of the new mirror! The Glam Studio is waiting for YOU!

As I have mentioned in a previous post...I was off to the Carolina's for EASTER with my family and ALSO to pay a visit to (my girls) six fabulous beauty queens (I am their director) to help them with hair/makeup for photo shoots, coaching for interview and stage, and wardrobe consulting for all the PRE-PREP before nationals in JULY! For a Makeup Artist, there is NO place like hanging with BEAUTY QUEENs to get up on ALL the NEW trends! In previous posts I have always brought back the BEST tips, and its like I have been in BEAUTY boot camp, when I come home from a 'pageant' trip! I took  photos of my ENTIRE day so you can see some behind the scenes fun! ....mind you this all happened JUST on MONDAY-for the most part!

I arrive in Tega Cay South Carolina around 6pm (after leaving the Easter family fun in Greensboro, NC), where I am staying with beautiful Chelsea Gregory, Miss SC International and her family! (Sunday night) I BEG to go to the BARN where they own a BEAUTIFUL Quarter HORSE (JOY fact: I owned a Sorrel and White 3/4 Arab named Kalee... years ago). I inhaled with great joy the barn and horse smells and my soul was filled with the tranquility of what horses bring, smelling hay, and feeding her horse MINTS! HORSE MINTS! HA!

OMG! This is SO FUN!!!!!!!!!!!!!

BACK on my mission.....early the next morning at 6:30a, I race out of bed and into the shower for the day I have been looking forward to! Meeting with all six of the Carolina International Titleholders!

I first meet with Elizabeth Malvasia, Mrs. South Carolina International. We have planned to get her photos from Pageant Photographer Lenn Long in Charlotte NC!!  This is Elizabeth at 8:00am! ain't she cute?

After we finished up here mid morning.... we were off to Elizabeth's DANCE studio 20 min away!! Elizabeth and her Husband own two Dance Studios in North Carolina and they are on a BILLBOARD! Check out Carolina Dance Sport!

One rainy Saturday in Richmond VA, did not hold back any Brides! We were thrilled to be able to help one of them at the Jefferson on Saturday! Hair and Makeup among the beauty and splendor of one of Virgina's finest locations! We had a wonderful time with Danielle and her Bridal Party. I can't wait to get the photos back from her photographer! These are just a few from my camera!

Then Sunday came and the rain dried up and flew away as we drove to Northern Virginia to prepare another Bride and her Bridal Party for her Wedding at the beautiful Glen Gardens in Fredericksburg Virginia!

This a GREAT time to save on COVERGIRL Mascara.  Let me tell you! They have a new LASH Blast Mascara. Now, its not that I am so in LOVE with the LASH BLAST, but what i am in love with is that it comes in a variety of cool colors!! You don't ALWAYS need to use black!! Especially with my Brides, I tend to shy away from using black mascara. Often times with the suede's and milk chocolates I use in bridal makeup, black is too overpowering! I lean towards using a dark chocolate mascara (which is hard to find). Most of the companies make a "glam brown" -which is still black...and too much. I have a great little Waterproof, Milk Chocolate ( REAL HARD to find) Mascara from Avon, that is very nice and fitting for my Brides that don't like much mascara-and it looks amazing with the lighter tones of brown hues for Weddings. OK, let me get back to my Covergirl...you can pick this up with shades of DARK WINE(Burgundy) which looks AMAZING with Darker Chocolates and Creams with hues of purple, Dark Blues, which highlights Darker Eye Colors and Skin and of course Brown. SO KROGER has an E-Coupon for 3 bucks off, paired with the Covergirl $1.oo off coupon from this past Sunday and you have your self a COOL 4 bucks off to try a different color mascara!
