As the weekend comes to an end, I am a wee bit tired and ready for a good long slumber! But I will be having little dreams of an incredible weekend in the books! Joyce and I enjoyed working on Weddings Saturday and Sunday, one in Mechanicsville and one in Powhatan at the Mill at Fine Creek. Both Brides and Bridesmaids we amazing and we had so much fun! Here is a little sneak peak with "my camera" from today at The Mill at Fine Creek! BEAUTIFUL PLACE!

My friend Kacie Lynch of Kacie Lynch Photography sent me over a facebook message a few weeks ago and asked me if I would like to be a part of a Vintage style "Trash the Dress" session! I was not sure what a Trash the Dress session really was? Kacie explained to me that it is a photo session post-Wedding where the Bride will get photos done in places she would have NEVER thought about doing before hand since it would surly ruin her dress. Places like under water, in the rain, and so forth. The twist was that she was shooting a vintage style Trash Session! So I would be doing makeup for a vintage style look. In my research I found that women of the 40's loved Glamour and Mascara!
Eye shadow was not so difficult and really just shadowing the crease, avoiding the brow bone, keeping a creamy undertone to almost a fleshy beige color completed the eye shadow. To complete the look it was black liquid eyeliner on the upper lids ,and sweep up to create an arch for that sexy and glamorous touch,  then tons of black mascara for the top lashes. False eyelashes were also used in abundance to give that increased glamour! I also found that women would fill in their eye brows even making them wider and fuller. Topped with Red Lips, the 40's vintage look is a classic modestly sexy starlet, with an innocent attitude in my opinion.
 
Keeping ALL of this in mind I had a GREAT time giving our Bride Emily the "look" she desired!

TRUE Story

I remember walking into a new job this past spring and wanted to throw a scream into the air as one of my new co-workers walked
by me with just the prettiest smile and the worst case of winter lipstick I had ever seen. A few weeks later, I finally gained the confidence to gently tell her that she needed to change that lip stick and FAST! Of course this lead to a huge makeup makeover for the entire staff!

In getting your summer to fall beauty routine ready..... here are my tips:

1. HAVE a makeup party exchange with your girlfriends this fall. Often you will find that they have unopened products of makeup they have gotten as gifts for birthdays and so forth that they dont like or use! this will save you some money, and in return have a fun night out with the girls!

2. Check your bright pink at the door and rethink your lip colors. Trends for fall tend to be going with darker pinks and deep purples, frosty browns, and clear glosses.

3. Think about revamping your foundation. With the tan fading and winter looming, you may need to visit your local beauty counter and try new foundation colors.

4. Think about trying the all new tinted moisturizers this fall. Its a light weight  moisturizing foundation that still contains a SPF in most brands. Great for dry winter skin.

5. One of my personal favorites, Facial Wipes. you can buy them in all brands. Loaded with moisture Cleanser Wipes can remove make-up and grime very conveniently and quickly and it is specifically made for all skin types. Some of them are even loaded with skin craving nutrients!

6.  Nothing says beauty better than beautiful white TEETH! Buy some teeth white strips for that beauty bag and use them as needed! You will be shining in no time and your friends will wonder how your teeth got so white!

7. A Moisture mask once a week is essential in the winter. Moisture masks can help soothe dry and irritated skin and bring you back to life and keep your skin in tip top shape this winter.

8. A little Sally goes a long way. Salley Hansen spray on legs found at any drugstore can double duty as a quick spray on tan for parties and events this winter. With instant gratification, you can just spray it on for instant color. yea, its says "legs" on the can but it works GREAT on all skin parts and washes off in the shower after your event. GREAT idea to cover white winter skin and give you a all over glow! GREAT UNDER makeup as well!

9. USE bronzer, but use it sparingly. Often times we use bronzer double duty for blush, and more. Try using a lighter bronzer on the bridge of your nose around your temples and a light amount under your new pink blush to shade in under those cheek bones.

10. think PINK... or shades of. Stop using bronzers as blush! The orange in Bronzers make you look older and will especially look strange on winter white skin! Start experimenting with lighter and darker shades of pinks. Pinks can be sheer and can make your skin look youthful and fresh even in the winter months at any age!
